Fishing on the Internet
©
By Rich Johnson

Last season about this time, I wrote about how the computer age has come to fishing! That certainly can’t be a surprise to anybody at this point. Computers run most of our, businesses, accounting and even our lives, as some folks have become a slave to their computers. Look at me, I write this article on a computer, use a fax machine within my computer to fax it to the office or I can E-mail it as an attachment and I play on the computer to trade tackle and antique lures.

Well now I’m using the computer to provide even more info to our readers. You already know my site is over 70 pages with reports, ramp lists, Event Calendar and so much more, but we’ve added a Massachusetts section with charter boats and a Jersey area with all the Boat Ramp lists for when you go on vacation.

The BIG News is you can now use your computer to hear my radio show each week on my site. By logging onto www.thefishingline.com, you can listen to the radio show live as it happens. If you are in an area where another radio tower exists, like in the Patchogue area, you can now listen to us clear as a bell on the Internet site through your computer speakers. You can also view video clips of our television show from last season and we’ll bring you sneak previews of 2001 shows as well. You can even learn more about events like the boat show or the World Outdoor Expo taking this place this weekend on my site by viewing a 30 second clip of their TV spot…all on my internet site.

Last season there were many tackle shops on the ball with web sites running, but many that didn’t. I want to pass along to you the new as well as the old who may have changed their names. Each of these sites may offer reports for their area. Over the next few weeks, we’ll give you party & charter boats, marinas and organizations. Here’s my website for those that don’t know it: www.thefishingline.com.
