5th Annual Jamaica Bay Kayak Fishing Tournament to Benefit Casting for Recovery

  • Thursday 5/1 campground opens for onsite lodging

  • All proceeds benefit Casting for Recovery, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit support & educational group for breast cancer survivors using fly-fishing retreats to promote health, hope and healing for women at any age and any stage of treatment and recovery.

3rd Annual Hudson River Fishermen's Assoc. Liberty Catch & Release Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby

  • Saturday / May 10
  • Entry: $25 / $40 after May 1
  • Features five (5) weigh in stations. Atlantis Princess for any anglers who want to fish from a party boat. Atlantis Marina, in Jersey City at the Liberty Landing Marina and in the Tappan Zee area at the Shattemuc Yacht Club in Ossining & Twin Lights Marina in NJ.
  • $100,0000 prize for the largest Bass over 50 pounds or the largest Bluefish over 20 pounds.
  • If a qualifying bass over 50 and a bluefish over 20 are caught the prize will be split 50/50 by the anglers with the largest of each species.
  • Fish anywhere on the Hudson River from the Newburgh Beacon Bridge south and all areas within a 30 mile radius of the Statue of Liberty.
  • Guaranteed cash prizes for the three (3) largest fish of each species
  • This will increase as the number of anglers entering the event goes up.
