May 15: Opening Day fluke season. S/SE winds light and last of incoming and first and most of outgoing. A so-so day on opening day as 23 anglers including Rich Johnson of The Fishing Line tried opening day in Huntington. There were about a dozen legit keepers in a tough and slow pick. Some sea robins and some shorts with a pretty decent number of fish that were 17 to 19 inches! I caught three sea robins and two naps! It was great to be on the water after missing all of last year's action with the rotator cuff surgery.
